My February wishlist - 金大班 and WISHTREND

Fashion

          1. Fluffy scarf - ¥45 (US$ 7.24)

Doesn't this fluffy scarf look so warm! I really like this thick, chunky look, because--well--almost everything looks good chunky! I've seen other pieces (like Dahlia's skater skirt worn by Zoe from Fashiononymous) made with the same fluffy, faux fur appearance and automatically fell in love with the style! It just accentuates the wonders of winter layering!

          2. Winter wool skirt - ¥83.60 (US$ 13.46)

The wool is an essential for any winter outfit! Wool fabrics work well with other winter pieces, especially knitted or cashmere sweaters. It's good a keeping the wearer warm while adding chic-ness (made up word? hehehe) to the entire outfit! I really like the design of this particular skirt. It's relatively snug about the hips and then flares out towards the end! How cute~~

Skincare

          1. Klairs gentle black deep cleansing oil - US$ 22.90
I want this product! I've heard great things about the cleansing oil and about this brand in general! The descriptions said that the cleansing oil can clean out pores and blackheads--and I have horrible, horrible blackheads on my nose (exactly that that photo...)!!

          2. MISQS cloud cotton balls - US$ 2.99
Aren't these the cutest cotton balls? I absolutely adore the colors! hahaha, who knew there existed such fancy cotton balls. I really want them because these cotton balls can be rolled out--meaning I can use them for a long time! I'll probably be stingy and cut the rolled out pieces in half or thirds. hahaha.

My Black Friday Wishlist

In the spirit of Black Friday shopping, I decided to make a collection of all the things I wish I could purchase for Black Friday (but probably won't-->poor college student). It's always fun just surfing the web to see the styles out there :)

Jolse (korean beauty shop)
Jolse has a black friday sale!! I was so surprised and excited!! I decided (on a whim...) to order Skin Watchers Green Snail Hydrating Gel and Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream (I wanted to purchase the Skin Watchers Green Snail Intensive Cream, but I mis-clicked and mis-ordered :( whoops!). Anyways, both are pretty good deals and I really wanted to try something with snail in it XD hehehe.
                                      $19.98 $11.98 ($8 discount!)                                  $19.49 $13.64 ($5.85 discount!)

I'm feeling a little sad though...I could have saved another $3 if I had only purchased the other Skin Watchers product... T__T hahaha, too late to regret now though...

American Eagle
I actually still over American Eagle, although it's supposed to target younger women? Most of my pants are from AE, and they are quite comfy! AE sales/clearance sections are still quite expensive in my opinion, but sometimes they have extra 40-70% off their clearance! During those times, I shop (like crazy). Right now, for Black Friday, they have 40% off.

AEO Heathered Turtleneck Sweater    ($40 $24)      AEO V Neck Jegging Sweater, Mint     ($35 $21

Mango
Mango is definitely one of my all-time favorite stores (that I haven't ever purchased from...YET). They tend to have some pretty good deals. Although sadly, the Black Friday deal is only 30% off. I've seen 40% off before!! Anyways, I really love the style. These are some of my favorites...but I might wait till a 40% off appears before purchasing XD hahaha.

Round-Neck Striped Sweater  ($20 $14)         Chunky-Knit Sweater ($50 $35)

What's on your Black Friday Wish list? <3

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fashion, fashion, fashion industry

You know how a couple days ago I posted about going into the skin care industry? Well, I changed to the fashion industry instead. However, there's no doubt that I would love to be involved in both industries, and I will continue to try to interview and understand the skin care industry. Just for my class concentration, finding an entrepreneur to interview in the fashion industry is much easier than for the skin care industry, since most brands are big brands, making it difficult to contact the founder for an interview.

Anywho, I went to Melrose to find some cute boutiques to ask salesclerks and owners about the fashion industry. They were all very nice and were even willing to take pictures (yay, extra points for my assignment)! How exciting~~ Some of the boutiques had super cute clothing, however, sadly, my wallet is currently pretty sad. I feel bad that I couldn't buy anything when the interviewees were sweet and nice.

I did go to Wasteland though! Wasteland is super cool, but it is on the more expensive side. However, the interior decoration and styles available are totally superb~ Check out the Yelp page here <3

Fun Harajuku fashion trends

Asian fashion is one of the most unique and diverse out there~ I just got carried away looking at the different styles found in Harajuku. I definitely fell in love the lilac and blue hair trend--I hope that I can pull it off someday~

Mini-haul: online thrifting with ThredUp

When I say "thrifting," what do you think? For me, thrifting is something that happens at Goodwill or the Salvation Army. It's where you find hidden jewels. However, until recently, I never really thought of thrifting as something that can also occur online. I guess e-commerce expanded to cover all types of industries.

Last week I ordered some pieces from ThredUp. I did a review of the company last April as well. I'd have to say, I just love this shop! There's some heavily discounted pieces, and all the pieces I've ordered have been amazing quality! Using ThredUp is really like going thrifting, because there's so many options to look through. Some of the items won't appeal to you, but some will! Like typical thrifting, it's quite exciting~

My package arrived smoothly yesterday! Hooray!

This is the typical package that ThredUp sends out. Aren't the polkadots adorable?
Also, the clothes are always surrounded with gift paper.
Gap blouse: the quality of this blouse is so awesome. I love the polka-dots, too :)
$13.49

Banana Republic Top: the quality was superb as well! I love the patterns and the colors, and LOOK!
This blouse was completely new :)
$11.49

Do you like thrifting? Is it work the time invested? I totally love thrifting :)

Review: Just-Fab haul

I made an account a while back, but left it alone for a while. Luckily I received a $10 credit -- I guess an attempt by the company to encourage its members to become VIP members. I decided to try it out and buy some accessories. The package arrived five days after I made the order.

PACKAGING

I was quite impressed with the packaging. It was very nicely put together. Each box contains one item, and inside the box were little baggies. I want to save these baggies to use to use later :)

ITEM REVIEWS

In the Loop (sorry the picture appears silver, but it's actually gold) - $6.95
This necklace is super cute. I love the elegance and daintiness of it. The gold is a nice, brilliant color! I love it!

On the Fly (also in gold - sorry...it once again appears silver >__<) - $6.95
I love this necklace as well. It's super dainty and elegant, and I love the way it feels. It's perfect for an every-day outfit!

Silver Reign (also in gold -- for some reason my phone makes the picture appear silver...) - $6.95
This anklet fits pretty well and looks quite nice. The problem is that it's difficult to make the fringes appear neat and the chain is very long, so it touches the ground...

Like a Charm - $6.95
This is definitely one of my favorite items that I bought. The charms are super cute and unique. HOWEVER, I can wear it... It looks way better in the photos, but the charms are so heavy that just fall under my arms--you'll never see them...

too bad...the charms are too heavy...
I think I'll try removing the charms and making them into a necklace or into a different bracelet...If I do so, I'll let you know how they end up looking! hopefully it'll be a lot better :)

OVERVIEW

Overall, I liked my purchase. The items seems to be good quality, and the styles and designs are just superb! I would purchase again from JustFab--if I receive more in-store credit XD I'm a bit stingy, so I don't usually purchase $7+ accessories unless I'm absolutely in love with the item or the quality of the item is amazing...

How is everyone doing? Has anyone tried one of these membership sites before?

Summer DIY: skirts

If you don't know, I love skirts, and I love DIY. SO, this summer, my sister and I finally decided to make some.

Skirts are super comfy to wear, and they looks good with any outfit! DIY skirts are so much cheaper (and maybe even more unique) than store bought ones. The three DIY skirts below were all under $5. HORRAY!

DIY Velvet Circle skirt: the fabric was purchased at Joann's. This is the first completely made-from-scratch skirt my sister and I every made!

DIY old thrift skirt: I was shopping in Goodwill and saw this skirt. It was a size 14, but I loved the pattern and the quality of the fabric! The colors were just so beautiful~

DIY old thrift skirt: This skirt was also found in Goodwill, and once again it was too big, but luckily, with a sewing machine and a few stitches, it was remade!

As you can see, I have huge thing for thrift shopping. It's so much fun (IMO) looking through piles of clothing to find a gem! It's very rewarding, and the pieces are all often less than $5. I've gotten some cute Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic pieces for cheap as well! They were in good quality, too!

Do you guys thrift shop? Would anyone like a tutorial?

This is MadeByYaYa's tutorial on how to refashion Men's Dress shirts! How usefully. The result is super cute, and hopefully, it's as easy as she makes it look :P Now I really want to go to Goodwill and buy a men's dress shirt...Call me frugal, but at least it'd be cheap!

If you've never heard of Q2HAN, they're awesome and totally amazing. This Youtube channel is hosted by twins~ Their DIYs are super--whatever they make turns out very professional looking and totally chic. They are totally up to date on fashion trends.

Cotton and Curls always has amazing DIYs, and this ruffled, peplum blouse would make any summer day sweet. She has wonderful step-by-step instructions accompanied by images! How awesome is that?

Now for the non-fashion/clothes related, but still just as summery and wonderful DIYs! hehe~ I've just recently became a huge fan of Mandy Pellegrin's DIYs. They just so simple, yet utterly wonderful! I think this cute, floral coasters proves the point.

Check it out HERE~

Lastly, another color, pastel-y DIY to try out! This project is simple, but will add a huge pop of color to any room: "dipped" bottles! Let's thank Nole Garey for this awesome DIY~

Outlet Haul #1

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long time no update! I just came back from being a cabin leader (camp counselor) for a Christian camp called Mt. Hermon. I'll update you all as soon I finish debriefing and writing up my experiences. Just a short "preview" -- IT WAS AMAZING! PTL~

A couple weeks ago, I went outlet shopping. I didn't really have much time to do it until now. I bought these at Abercrombie & Fitch outlet and Loft outlet :)

I just absolutely adore lace. I'm so happy I found this piece, because it was 1) petite and 2) $15. While $15 is not super cheap, I still couldn't resist it. Perfect for the interviews coming up for grad school applications!

I also love this blouse, because of the collars! Anything peter-pan-collar is an automatic thumbs-up in my book! Sadly, this piece is semi-sheer, so I'll need to wear a cami underneath for my interviews! This was also $15 and petite sized, so the fit was pretty nice.

Now all I need to find are some nice, formal-ish black skirts and flats for the interviews. Any suggestions where to find good quality, but inexpensive pieces? Thanks!!

This dress was about $10. Yay! The quality is so nice, and it's soft and flowly--perfect for summer! I love floral prints!

I love the checkered pattern for this dress. It's super comfy--wonderful for a laced summer day!

Sorry the quality of the pictures are sort of bad--phone camera, bad lightly, and slightly shaky hands... Gotta work on my picture-taking skills!

Where do you go to buy your summer outfits?
