Review & haul: Jolse, online Korean beauty shop

This post has been in my to-do list for while now...Sorry for the delay! Anyways, this is my first time shopping with Jolse, an online Korean beauty and cosmetics shop. It has many popular Korean brands like Etude House, Skinfood, Tonymoly, Innisfree, and Mizon. They have great reputation for their quality of service and for their pricing! Plus, they have free shipping for all purchases!!

Jolse Homepage

Jolse always has good deals, and during Black Friday (when I made my purchase >__<), there were plenty of great sales! Currently They have some 2+1 deals and 10% certain brands every week (currently Innisfree and Skinfood)! Each order also comes with so many samples! My order came with 8 samples~~

My entire Jolse order
My two purchases - snail creams!
Order made: Nov. 27, 2014
Date shipped: Nov. 28, 2014
Date arrived: Dec. 15, 2014
(arrived 18 days after purchase)

Moreover, Jolse has great customer service. I got sort of impatient and after 15 days of waiting (13 business days), I decided to email them regarding when my order. They replied in 2 days and were very courteous~ They mentioned the date my order was shipped and told me that shipping to the US takes 10-20 business days

When my package arrived, the two creams were wrapped in layers of bubble wrap! The package itself came in a very sturdy boxy. My items came safely without any mishaps! Overall, my experience with Jolse was great~

My christmas wishlist from WISHTREND

Hello everyone! As some of you may have seen, I'm a huge fan of Korean (and Asian) skincare. It's so much more thorough than what many Americans are used to--with up to 11 steps! It's hard to think that only a couple years ago, I never used any sort of skincare products--just good, old water and towel. However, after finding out about the importance of skincare, I've been strangely (and happily) addicted to Korean skincare and products. Not only are they effective and cute, but many of these products are of much higher quality that American products of the same price.

*Disclaimer: not sponsored*

Today, I'd like to introduce to you Wishtrend, an online Korean beauty store. There are few points that make Wishtrend stand out from other Korean beauty stores:

  1. Well-integrated and very informative Youtube channel
  2. Exclusive and hard-to-find brands
  3. Huge range of products
  4. WISHboxes with discounted prices on a collection of products

I think the main reason I really love Wishtrend is that they like to keep their customers informed. They do that through they Youtube channel and through their newsletters. I love listening to their videos and reading the newsletters because I definitely learn a lot from them. I also want to purchase every product they mention >__< hahaha. Someday, maybe.

Here are some examples of videos and newsletters in which they inform their viewers:
- [Newsletter] What does vitamin C do for your skin?
- [Newsletter] Exfoliation tips for different types of skin
- [Youtube] Basic skin type test & rules
- [Youtube] Best Skin Care Products for Body & 3 Essential Body Care Tips
- [Youtube] Autumn/Fall Skin Care 101 & Natural Moisturizers

My Christmas Wishlist

These two are what's known as the Wishboxes. They contain a few products sold at approximately 30-50% off! I really would like to try a few products this way!

If you've taken a look at this youtube video, you'll see that the last two items on my wishlist are from that video--truthfully, I wanted everyone in that video. >__<

My Black Friday Wishlist

In the spirit of Black Friday shopping, I decided to make a collection of all the things I wish I could purchase for Black Friday (but probably won't-->poor college student). It's always fun just surfing the web to see the styles out there :)

Jolse (korean beauty shop)
Jolse has a black friday sale!! I was so surprised and excited!! I decided (on a whim...) to order Skin Watchers Green Snail Hydrating Gel and Mizon Black Snail All in One Cream (I wanted to purchase the Skin Watchers Green Snail Intensive Cream, but I mis-clicked and mis-ordered :( whoops!). Anyways, both are pretty good deals and I really wanted to try something with snail in it XD hehehe.
                                      $19.98 $11.98 ($8 discount!)                                  $19.49 $13.64 ($5.85 discount!)

I'm feeling a little sad though...I could have saved another $3 if I had only purchased the other Skin Watchers product... T__T hahaha, too late to regret now though...

American Eagle
I actually still over American Eagle, although it's supposed to target younger women? Most of my pants are from AE, and they are quite comfy! AE sales/clearance sections are still quite expensive in my opinion, but sometimes they have extra 40-70% off their clearance! During those times, I shop (like crazy). Right now, for Black Friday, they have 40% off.

AEO Heathered Turtleneck Sweater    ($40 $24)      AEO V Neck Jegging Sweater, Mint     ($35 $21

Mango
Mango is definitely one of my all-time favorite stores (that I haven't ever purchased from...YET). They tend to have some pretty good deals. Although sadly, the Black Friday deal is only 30% off. I've seen 40% off before!! Anyways, I really love the style. These are some of my favorites...but I might wait till a 40% off appears before purchasing XD hahaha.

Round-Neck Striped Sweater  ($20 $14)         Chunky-Knit Sweater ($50 $35)

What's on your Black Friday Wish list? <3

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Skin care products I want to try for the year~

I realized I didn't have a New Year post, so I wanted to make one regarding skin care products that I want to try for this year. I love looking for new products, so I think this will be a perfect thing for me to post~ hehe

Some of these different types of products may be a little confusing, so I'll be writing description for y'all! I'll actually need them, too... still new to Korean skin care products. ^__^ There's definitely way more product types than in the States.

1. Cleanser
I don't use make-up (regularly) so I'm not currently interested in buying an oil cleanser, but I know that oil cleansers are great for quickly removing make-up and dirt! Currently though, I'm interested in just the "normal" cleansers.

I've been wanting to try the Etude House Baking Soda series for the longest time! I want to test out the "Whipping Foaming" cleanser. Not only does it seem fun, but also I've heard that it can help reduce pore size and clean out blackheads (which I desperately need...T___T).

2. Masks
Masks, while aren't super common in the State are quite popular in Asian countries. They are used for deep cleaning and for moisturizing.

Currently, I'm drooling (is that the right word? >__< ehehehe) over Etude House's I need you series, particularly the yogurt strawberry mask and the white pearl mask. The yogurt strawberry mask is supposed to help with soften and moisturize your skin, and the white pearl mask is meant to brighten your complexion! How perfect for a California girl where the sun can be quite drying for the skin~

Another beauty product I've been wanting to try is Innisfree's capsule recipe pack. While they seem small, each pack can be used up to four times! Hooray~~ Innisfree is famous for their jeju volcanic products (which can help with oily skin and --once again--pore size), so I want to try it! I also want to try the canola honey since that helps with complexion and moisturization. The last one is the sleeping rice pack, which also helps brighten complexion!

3. Toner
Asian toners are sort of different from American toners. They have the purpose of adding moisture to the skin and maintaining proper pH levels, rather than being used as astringents.

I haven't actually found one that I've really been dying to try...any suggestions??

4. Essence/Serum
These are concentrated treatments for you skin! They penetrate deep into your skin and help your skin look healthier~

Skinfood's peach sake serum sounds really promising. I've heard that it's great for those with oily skin (like me). My forehead is horrendously oily due to my bangs...sigh.

5. Emulsions
Emulsions are similar to serums (but contains less concentrated actives). Their main purpose is to add moisture the skin. The texture is like lotion but not as thick!

The Face Shop's ice flower series is targeted towards oily skin. It really helps keep your skin moisturized without given it an extra shine! The packaging is also so beautiful __ I think it'd make me feel really elegant--like a real lady XD hehe

That's all for today! Hope you enjoy the post~

This post's questions: What's your favorite Korean beauty brand? Which product? <3
